The Miri Monkeys Touchrugby club was started in 2009 by a group of ladies who are keen to play the game of touch for its social and fitness benefits. Within a few months, our players have participated in a number of competitions in Miri as well as in KB, Brunei. The sport is quickly gathering interest in the local scene with more and more people becoming interested to learn to play. Currently most of our members are women but men, youths and children are welcome to learn and participate in this fun sport.
Recently Miri Monkeys Touch has become a part of MDRU and is now also known as MDRU's Touch Section.
We regularly meet up at Pusat Belia Miri for training or Esplanade Beach Miri for a beach touch session on weekends from 4.30 p.m. We sometimes hold training sessions on weekdays as well.
